The much-needed, affordable senior living facility in Dallas earns coveted recognition.
KWA Construction’s Hillside West senior living facility in Dallas was recently awarded as one of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Best 50+ Affordable Rental Communities with a Silver award. Every year NAHB honors the industry’s most prestigious design, development, lifestyle and marketing for senior market housing with its Best 50+ Gold and Silver awards. Designed by Rick and Robert Garza, founders of RPGA Design Group, Hillside West showcases the latest trends that appeal to the mature market.
“We worked with Ground Floor Development to build a residence for seniors who want to simultaneously enjoy high-end designs and affordability,” said Brian Webster, Vice President of KWA Construction. “We are excited and honored that NAHB has recognized these achievements with its Best 50+ Silver award.”
Located four miles west of downtown, Hillside West serves residents ages 62 years and older who earn approximately 60 percent of the area’s median income or below. The project was intentionally placed at this address to allow residents integration with the developing Canyon area of Oak Cliff.
“The distinct need for the project was obvious by the immediate occupancy. Just one month after completion, the development was at 100 percent occupancy,” said Webster.
The 130-unit complex features a fitness and business center, as well as a community dining and activity center within the clubhouse. The outdoor facilities include a high-end kitchen, gathering pavilion and swimming pool with a sundeck.
